SCHOLARLAB FOUNDATION

Scholar Lab Foundation aims to establish two Micro Economic Centres powered
by solar energy, each equipped with 50 stitching machines. This initiative
is designed to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for 100 or more
tribal women in the Scheduled Tribe villages of Ajodhya Hills, Purulia
District, West Bengal.
Each centre will provide an 8-hour running capacity for the machines,
organized into two shifts of 4 hours each, ensuring wider participation and
productivity. By adopting clean energy for operations, the project promotes
both women’s empowerment and environmental sustainability.
The concept was earlier introduced in a GIZ-sponsored program in West Bengal
and witnessed significant success, proving its economic and social viability.
Scholar Lab Foundation now seeks to replicate and scale this transformative
model.
To create sustainable livelihoods for tribal women through the establishment of solar-powered stitching centres, fostering women’s empowerment, clean energy adoption, and community development.
We invite government agencies, CSR partners, NGOs, and impact investors to collaborate with Scholar Lab Foundation in scaling this model. Together, we can provide dignified employment, strengthen tribal communities, and promote clean energy-based economic growth.
